情報セキュリティにおけるさまざまな脅威と対策技術の基本原理，および実際のシステムにおけるセキュリティ脅威のリスク分析・セキュリティ設計の考え方を学び，情報セキュリティ対策のための基本知識を習得する。
Course objective: This course is an introduction to foundations of computer security. At the end of this course, the students will have the knowledge on information security management systems, cryptography, authentication, PKI, privacy protection, security risk assessment, illegal access prevention, and malware protection.情報セキュリティに関して幅広い基本的知識を有しているかを評価する。具体的には，以下の達成目標を評価する。
(1)共通鍵暗号，公開鍵暗号，セキュリティプロトコルについて理解している。
(2)デジタル署名，認証，PKI，プライバシー保護について理解している。
(3)情報セキュリティマネジメント，情報セキュリティ監査，セキュリティ設計，不正アクセス対策，マルウェア対策について理解している。
At the end of the course, students should be able to do the followings:
1. Explain symmetric key cryptosystems, public key cryptosystems, and security protocols.
2. Explain digital signatures, authentication protocols, PKI, and privacy protection.
3. Outline the information security management systems, information security audit, security risk assessment, illegal access prevention, and malware protection.
