Electromagnetic measurements, including optical measurements is a basic operation of obtaining quantitative information from optical and electromagnetic phenomena. It is an essential basic technology and is necessary for the development of science and technology not only in mechanical, electrical, and electronic engineering, but also chemistry and biology.
Purpose: To explain the basic principles used in optical and electromagnetic measurements. To help the student to learn the importance of optical and electromagnetic measurements, measurement methods, and methods of processing the measured quantity.
Achievement of goal:
(1) Understand
measurement in general and understand the processing of measured values.
(2) Understand
the general principles of electromagnetic and optical measurements equipment.
(3) Understand general principles of
electrical instruments,
such as moving coils, galvanometers, amperometric
meters, and induction meter.
(4) Understand measurement methods related to
electrical, electronic, magnetic, optical measuring instruments.
(5) Understand applications of Optical
measurements in a
wide range of fields including mechanics, electrical, electronics, chemistry
and biology.
